- To understand who is responsible for safeguarding children
- To understand how to implement safeguarding measures
In this module of the course we will cover:
- To understand the importance of protecting children from abuse in their homes
- To understand the roles that various professions have with regards to safeguarding
- To understand the role that child protection charities play in tackling child abuse
In this module of the course we will cover:
- To understand what child-centred safeguarding is
- To understand how to implement child-centred approaches to safeguarding
- To understand the consequences of not placing children at the centre of safeguarding choices
In this module of the course we will cover:
- To understand what rights a child has
- To understand how the UK government and United Nations protect children’s rights
- To understand what children’s rights mean in practice
In this module of the course we will cover:
- To understand what happens when a child is made the subject of a care order
- To understand what can be done to prevent a child becoming the subject of a care order
- To understand what the options for a child’s care and accommodation are after the have been removed from their home
In this module of the course we will cover:
- To understand when it is ok and not ok to leave children home alone
- To have up-to-date knowledge of the laws on smacking children in all parts of the UK
- To know how to continue meeting the needs of children as they grow up and become adolescents
The final assessment test is an online interactive examination containing 50 questions to be completed within a 60 minute time frame.
The final assessment will contain questions from all modules and topics covered within the course.
The results from the final assessment test will count 100% towards the final grade for the course.
The results are instantaneous so learners will be informed straight away as to how they have performed on the assessment.
If for any reason you don’t pass first time around you have unlimited exam retakes.
